C S Pawan Kumar is a strategic and visionary leader with over two decades of experience spanning military engineering, infrastructure development, crisis management, and academic leadership. Currently serving as the Dean – Careers at HITAM, he brings a rare blend of operational excellence, people-centric leadership, and a deep understanding of industry-academia alignment.

A decorated veteran and former Joint Director at the Border Roads Organisation, he has led and delivered high-impact infrastructure projects in some of the most challenging terrains of India, including the Himalayas and the Northeast. His career reflects an unyielding commitment to excellence—evident in milestones like achieving 95% progress in a $30B Ladakh highway project ahead of schedule, constructing strategic bridges within days, and enabling crisis-ready COVID-19 healthcare infrastructure in Hyderabad cantonment.

C S Pawan Kumar holds an MTech from IIT Kharagpur, an MBA in Human Resources from Osmania University, and is currently augmenting his management acumen through a certificate course at IIM Ahmedabad. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®) and an award-winning innovator, credited with a patented water purification device.
At HITAM, he spearheads career services, focusing on enhancing student employability, strengthening industry linkages, and aligning academic output with emerging global skill demands. With his rich interdisciplinary background, he plays a pivotal role in mentoring students, guiding curriculum relevance, and advancing the institution’s mission of transforming engineering education.
