Attending Hyderabad Institute of Technology and Management was a significant experience in my academic career. During my undergraduate studies, I secured an internship at IIIT Hyderabad with the support of HITAM management. As a research intern under experienced professors, I applied my theoretical knowledge to real- world projects, significantly boosting my profile. Impressed by our work at IIIT Hyderabad, the HITAM management believed in our team and sponsored us to continue the research project at the college. I am always grateful to the faculty and management for their support in completing the project. Reflecting on my time at HITAM, I can attest to HITAM’s significant impact on my career as a data science professional. HITAM is an institute that offers opportunities for the 360-degree development of students, which is not common in many colleges. Looking back, the camaraderie built during all-nighters for projects, fueled by coffee and samosas, remains unforgettable. The sole fact that they let students participate in critical decision making through initiatives like Student Self Governance speaks volumes about the institute’s commitment to student empowerment. My time in Social Self Governance (SSG) taught me invaluable leadership and delegation skills. Additionally, my involvement in the Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) taught me that having good ideas isn’t enough; you also need the necessary toolkit to communicate and sell your ideas to the right people. The practical, student-first approach at HITAM is what sets its faculty and leadership apart. Hello Dear Hitamights, It gives me immense pleasure to share my professional journey with you. I am currently working in TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) as a Project Lead Manager, Hyderabad. It has been almost fifteen (15) years ago in 2009, I stepped into HITAM to pursue my dreams of Doing Engineering in the field of Computer Science Engineering (CSE). HITAM has been a major contribution to my life and also in the aspects of my career growth. It gave me the courage and hope to be more self independent and confident about whatever I do. It takes great pride for me to be the 1st SSG (Student Self Governance) – Student Principal at HITAM. This role gave me insights into how a college functions when both students and college management work together to create miracles in the education system. During my tenure, I also won a very prestigious award, the “National Award for Academic Excellence.” Currently working as an IT Professional, I am also a part of the HITAM alumni board member, trying to contribute a bit towards HITAM’s progression. My advice to the juniors is “First believe in yourself and then believe in the institution”. It is you who need to dream big and have aspirations in life to create wonders.
