Department of Mechanical Engineering

The Department of Mechanical Engineering is started in 2002. The department offers four year Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) program (comprising of eight semesters). The Department is composed of experienced (Two Doctorates) and young faculty to deal latest trends and technologies in transforming the knowledge and develop skill set. How ever, the department is constantly organising skill development programs through Student Skill Development Centre (SSDC). Since there is a great scope, the Department is encouraging and facilitating industrial visits, Internship programs in order to connect with industry.

Our Vision

“ To become a lead in producing quality mechanical engineers, which will prosper the society to face the current technical challenges. ”

Our Mission

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

  • PEO 1

To motivate students for designing an effective mechanical engineering system, that will lead to successful careers.

  • PEO 2

To make students competent in their overall activities, that provides services to the society

  • PEO 3

To develop communication skills, and moral values in the students, that will make them a responsible citizen.

  • PEO 4

To impart proficiency in students for awareness and allegiance towards lifelong learning and professional ethics.

Program Specific Outcome Statements (PSOs)

Identify, construct and translate engineering problems in design, thermal and production streams.
Design and develop an energy efficient system in all engineering and interdisciplinary fields to meet the present challenges of industry and society

Program Outcomes

Engineering knowledge

Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

Problem analysis

Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

Design/development of solutions

Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

Conduct investigations of complex problems

Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

Modern tool usage

Setting the highest ethical standards for self and others in everything we do. Our actions, behaviors and conduct must always generate trust and confidence in our stakeholders.

The engineer and society

Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

Environment and sustainability

Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions insocietal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.

Individual and team work

Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.

Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.

Project management and finance
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply them to one’s work as a member and a leader of a team, in managing projects in a multidisciplinary environment.
Life-long learning
Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change.
