About The Department of Electrical Engineering

The Department of Electrical Engineering at HITAM was inaugurated in 2001. It offers a 4-year Bachelor of Technology (BTech) program, which involves eight semesters. HITAM is considered one of the top engineering colleges in Telangana. We have also introduced the MTech program in Power Electronics. The department of EEE aims to be the centre of excellence in electrical engineering and envisions producing skilled and competent engineers. Its mission is to embrace an efficient teaching and learning method. It aims to ensure efficiency in emerging technologies, while remaining accountable through continuous improvement and self-evaluation.

Program Objective

B.Tech Electrical And Electronics Engineering

The prime objective of BTech EEE is that the graduates will achieve a successful professional or technical career, including leadership or supportive roles on interdisciplinary teams.

Another educational objective noted for this course is that graduates will be competent to obtain, utilize and develop skills for efficient, professional practices.
In addition, the program also aims to ensure that the graduates receive holistic education with up-to-date knowledge and incorporation of relevant skills, thus honing them into bright, capable, and responsible citizens.

Program / Course Outcome

B.Tech in Electrical Engineering at HITAM has outlined two important program outcome statements, which are:

Evaluate, model, test, and offer engineering solutions related to electric drives, power, and control systems.

Implement basics of electrical engineering to simulate and design electrical and electronics systems utilizing PSPICE and MATLAB tools.
This course will likely offer every engineer a broad range of engineering knowledge, problem analysis skills, design of solutions, knowledge about modern tool usage, ethics, sustainability, communication, teamwork, project management, and life-long learning.

Future Scope

B.Tech in Electrical Engineering can reveal a slew of job opportunities for you. After completing BTech in EEE, you can opt for either electrical engineering jobs or higher studies. The jobs for electrical engineers are evident in both the private and public sectors. If an individual opts for a government job, it can be through central government competitive exams such as IES, RRB, PSU, and UPSC. The PSU offers jobs in Maharatna&’s (ONGC, NTPC, SAIL, etc.), Navaratna&’s (BHEL, BPCL, HPCL, etc.), and Miniratnas&’s (NHPC, BSNL, EIL, etc.).

The state government jobs are in GENCO, PSC, and TRANSCO. The private jobs are offered by Schneider, L&T, Essar Steel, IBM, TCS, HCL, CTS, WIPRO, etc. HITAM holds profound placement records, and candidates of 2022 from EEE got selected in PRACTO, INTELLIPAAT, HARMAN, MINDTREE, HEXAWARE, CAPGEMINI, Full Creative, Infinity Learn, and others.
