Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering

The Department of Electrical Engineering is started in 2001, since its inception. The department offers four year Bachelor of Technology (BTech) program (comprising of eight semesters). Subsequently, M.Tech. program on Power Electronics had been introduced.

BTech in Electrical Engineering at HITAM is one of the best rated undergraduate engineering Programs. The curriculum of BTech program comprises of core courses, department elective courses, technical seminars, experiments in laboratory, projects etc. The program offers sufficient flexibility so that the students can undertake various elective courses that provide exposure in various disciplines of EEE such as Microprocessors and VLSI design, Power Electronics and Power System, Control System and Embedded Systems. Members of faculty regularly publish in peer reviewed journals of highest international repute.

Dr. O. P.Suresh (HOD)

He has 14 years of teaching experience. He has done B.Tech in Narayana Engineering Collee, Nellore, M.Tech in National Institute of Science and Technology and PhD in NIT Rourkela. He had published 3 international peer reputed journals and 9 conference papers and review 3 peer reputed Journals. He has organised one workshop on Renewable energy and attended 14 workshops and seminars. He taught 15 subjects in his career.

His research interests are Renewable Energy, Smart Grid and Power Electronics. He has guided 45 BE projects and one M.Tech Project.
