‘Sate Hitam Satyam’ : The path that leads to the truth is the truth

This in essence has been the true calling of Hyderabad Institute of Technology and Management (HITAM) since its inception. Its intent has always been to impart world class education in the field of Engineering and Management. Now situated in a sprawling, lush 11 acre campus at Medchal, HITAM was started in 2001 as Royal College of Engineering in Medak. However, transformation at HITAM did not stop with mere physical infrastructure; it extended far beyond and manifested in initiation of best practices in education, embracing eco-consciousness, facilitating career planning and ensuring faculty development all from a perspective of overall growth of its students.


This institution’s journey of transformation is a soul-searching mission aimed at carving a niche for itself in the academic world. At HITAM, students do engineering proving that the pleasure lies in the journey as much as in marching towards the destination.


In line with its strong conviction that sum is greater than the parts, HITAM has endeavoured to create a highly stimulating learning environment by integrating all the facets integral for this, viz., infrastructure, amenities, highly qualified and dedicated team of faculty members and best academic practices. Whether it is an ecologically-sensitive Green Campus or a highly motivated and process-driven teaching faculty or an industry-relevant 204×7 Active Learning Program, the objective here has always been to help students emerge as professionally qualified and personally well-groomed individuals, capable of standing out in today’s competition.

Project-Based Learning

This new method of learning is considered as an alternative to the traditional teacher-led classrooms. It has been found that this new method leads to better understanding of concepts, creates a wider knowledge base, enhances communication skills and promotes a whole gamut of soft skills like interpersonal relationships and leadership traits.

Outcome-Based Education

Contrary to traditional education which concentrates on the inputs provided to students, outcome-based education measures the student performance (termed the ‘outcome’) and advocates student-centered learning methodology. Rather than specify any particular style of teaching, OBE looks up to the students to demonstrate the skills they are required to learn. Here, students are encouraged to assimilate information and exhibit their understanding in their assignments as a contrast to traditional instructional methods.

Our faculty members have undergone training under the Wipro Mission 10X program that imparts innovative teaching techniques designed for engineering students. Each new faculty member undergoes a special training program called ‘Aarambh’ that equips them with best practices in engineering education.
